Welcome to Heat Pumps!
The material in this lesson represents a basic overview of heat pump systems. The operating capacity and performance of any heat pump system is dependent on attention to detail during the installation process.
Those measures include:
- Cleanliness of all heat exchange surfaces
- Safeguards preventing contamination of the refrigerant circuit during assembly and brazing
- Proper evacuation of all moisture and air from the refrigerant circuit
- Adherence to all OEM requirements in properly charging the refrigerant system
- Confirmation the system is operating at the design air flow prior to refrigerant charge
- The equipment is properly sized for the cooling load of the home.
- The duct and air distribution system is properly designed.
