Welcome to the Gas Furnaces Course!
Summary:
The material in this lesson represents a basic overview of gas furnace systems. The inter-dependencies existing among the components of the furnace should be apparent to you at this point.
The operating capacity and performance of any furnace is dependent on attention to detail during the installation process. Those measures include:
- Proper (design) air flow
- Adequate combustion air
- Vent system design meets OEM criteria
- Adherence to all OEM requirements in adjusting onārate
Beyond quality in installation, due diligence is also required in ensuring:
- The equipment is properly sized for the heating load of the home.
- The duct and air distribution system is properly designed.
